YAC Term 1 Update

YAC & Little Rainbows have been busy having the best time ever! A big thanks to coordinator/teacher Geoffrey Parry-Ewing for organising such engaging experiences for our young people :)

From Geoffrey:

"It has been such a fun start to the year for YAC and Little Rainbows. We are excited to have had about 15 new young people join us this term. Our first session was spent playing a variety of getting-to-know-you games and sharing pizza for dinner.

Our first Little Rainbows was a science workshop by the Science Guy. The young people were so excited to play with the fossils, gadgets and many experiments he set up. I think the highlight of the night would have to be when he put them all in a giant bubble. They also made snow which they were able to take home. Some have said it was the best Little Rainbows yet.

The older YAC group has expanded this year too with some of the young people now old enough to join the older group. Our first session was a resin workshop at the Creative Corner Studio. We made a variety of different objects such a coasters, jewellery trays, mini bowls and earrings with different coloured resin.

The most recent YAC and Little Rainbows was rock climbing at Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym. We started learning how to belay safely then it was off to climb the walls. We only stopped momentarily for pizza before spending the rest of the evening climbing or in the caves. "

There are still some exciting sessions planned for this term including a cooking class, a dessert challenge and a craft workshop. For more information please contact me: at [email protected]
