Thank you Nicholas

Some 5 years ago, when Nicholas Stewart from Dowson Turco Lawyers (DTL) in Sydney was approached to support a then new community organisation, he didn’t hesitate.  Initially offering support, then joining the committee, he has offered so much. As he steps down from the committee, we reflect on his contribution.

Nick offered Rainbow Families a home, with DTL offices being the location of committee meetings for many years.  Many a solicitor would stay late to welcome the community members or lock up after a meeting.

Nick helped with our governance, facilitated networks and relationships with corporate and media organisations, offered legal advice, helped incorporate the entity that is Rainbow Families today, and passionately supported the many initiatives to help our community thrive.

From offering legal advice to prospective parents at seminars in our community, to setting up information stalls at key events, to fiercely advocating for the rights of parents and children, to coordinating care parcels to families in our community effected by bush fires.

We are especially grateful for Nick championing the Youth Advisory Council, which has nurtured the leadership skills of some impressive children and young people in our community.
