Term 1 Was a Winner for Youth Council and Little Rainbows

Fun times, Good Friends, Great Activities.

There were many fun events to round out in Term 1 for YAC and Little Rainbows. Little Rainbows participated in a craft workshop where they created a range of different crafts. The night started with a blind portrait competition, then Ivy one of the old members of Little Rainbows taught the young people how to make an origami bookmark. After a break for pizza for dinner the young people had the option to make a dream catcher or a kite. There was much excitement as we tested out some of the kites outside.

The older YAC group had a cooking class where they learnt to make pasta. The young people worked in groups to knead, roll, cut and boil the pasta, cook the sauce and prepare dessert. What started out as a floury mess turned into a delicious meal.

The final YAC and Little Rainbows was a dessert challenge where the young people had to decorate cupcakes in a specific theme. The first theme was animals and there were many colourful designs such as butterflies, cats and fish. The second theme was rainbow families which was a great opportunity for the young people to design a cake that showcased the beauty of being part of a rainbow family. A special thanks to Theo one of the older members of YAC for helping on the night and being a judge.

It has been wonderful to see so many new faces this term. Next term we have lots of exciting activities planned such as laser tag, circus skills, Lego Masters Challenge and a craft workshop with Reverse Garbage. Please contact me if you want more information.
