Last weekend 100 people joined us for our fifth Resilience Camp. At the beautiful Point Wolstoncroft on the Central Coast we enjoyed the stunning surrounds of Lake Macquarie and the wonderful hospitality of the Sport and Rec team up there.
Families came from all across NSW to meet new friends, build resilience and have fun. Despite torrential rain on Saturday morning we resiliently forged forward and had a great day. Who knew that if the camp fire is flooded you can make damper on a BBQ! By the afternoon the rain had cleared and families had a go at archery, disk golf, orienteering and fishing. Our group caught a total of 12 fish all of which were lovingly returned to the water.
On Sunday all 100 campers donned a life vest and got out on the water on canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and party boats. It was a spectacular day on the lake and for many families this was their first time trying out activities like this.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Sarah, Tierney and Vanessa who all volunteered to help out at camp. And a massive thanks to Maddocks who generously subsidised the ticket price for 70 people at camp. We can't wait to do it all again next year.
