Introducing Mon - Our Youth Council Coordinator

Introducing Mon Enriquez, one of our newest team members at Rainbow Families, who will be heading up the Youth Advisory Council as it comes out of hibernation and resumes its face-to-face meetings at the Summer Hill Little B.I.G. House.

Mon (they/them) comes to us with experience in youth work from their time in Melbourne working for Moonee Valley City Council’s Valley Youth team, facilitating the online queer youth group Rainbow Valley throughout the various lockdowns of 2021. More recently, Mon has also been carrying out project management work and volunteering in the for-purpose space with organisations like Green Connect in the Illawarra, National Youth Mental Health foundation headspace, and the Centre for Multicultural Youth in Melbourne ensuring that young people have access to the resources they need to lead their best lives.

When they’re not on the clock, you can find Mon whipping something up in the kitchen from a new cookbook, sending a care package to their friends or lying under the shade of a tree scribbling away in a book.

For more information on the Youth Council and how to join, feel free to reach out via email at [email protected] or fill out our Expression Of Interest Form.
