Family Pride

Family Pride is a celebration of family diversity. It is an opportunity to bring together our families and the community to celebrate, socialise and reaffirm that we are strongest when we stand together and this year was amazing. This year we had around 500 people at Petersham Town Hall for a fun filled community day.

Rainbow Families invited community partners to have a stall at Family Pride and run a children’s activity with the goal to get families to go to each of the stalls, get involved in the children’s activity allowing parents to understand from the community partners what services they offered our families. This year our community partners out did them selves with activities including slime making, drag doll dress ups, photo booths, face painting and so much more.

Thank you to our community partners who came and ran kids activities

A special thank you to Commonwealth Bank for sponsoring Family Pride, and sending an army of volunteers to help out on the day. This support allows us book amazing entertainment, offer lunch and to keep this event free. This is the 5th Family Pride that Commonwealth Bank has supported. We are grateful for the ongoing support for Family Pride.

We had the very talented David Field from Canon taking family photos throughout the day. We often say the Love Makes A Family, and David was able to capture exactly that in the family photos on the day. Thank you David for volunteering your time again.

And thank you to everyone that donated books to the book stall, baked cakes for the cake stall, and to those that came to be with community. Family Pride is such a successful day because of each and every person that comes along to be part of our fabulous community.
