Active Australia Sports Carnivals

Our Sports Carnival Series across NSW wrapped up last weekend with our final event in Macarthur.

Our first event was in Sydney on a rainy day in November where despite the drizzle we had around 250 people join us for a fun filled morning of cricket, soccer and netball followed by lunch thanks to Acumen Strata.

The series was impacted by COVID restrictions and a very wet year with each of the other events needing to be rescheduled a number of times. Thank you to everyone that stuck with us with all of the date changes and came along to their local catch up. Newcastle, The Illawarra, Penrith and Macarthur all saw the local Rainbow Families Communities get together to be with community in a fun and active setting.

A huge thank you to Active Australia for providing the funding for us to be able to put these events on. Thanks also to Football NSW and Netball NSW who have been involved with this series all along, and to the Sydney Sixers Cricket team and The Flying Bats. And a massive shout out to the fabulous drag queens Wonder Mama, Foxy and Joyce Maynge who all helped make these events accessible and inclusive for our community.
