Thank you Mat

It is with sadness that we farewell Mat Howard, who has stepped down as CoChair of Rainbow Families. Mat joined the committee in 2015, not long after moving back to Australia.
Mat kick started the advocacy work that Rainbow Families is now known for. Mat championed the Love Makes A Family Report - looking at ways our community had been affected by discrimination when accessing State government services. The findings and recommendations from this report determined the advocacy work for Rainbow Families over the past few years.
Mat was also key in our fight against the plebiscite. Taking a group of families to Canberra to meet with politicians to let them know the impact a plebiscite would have on our families.
The fabulous Family Pride events were also led by Mat. Working with Commonwealth Bank to secure funding for these events, and coordinating all of the community partners to participate is not small task.
Mat provided the committee with leadership and direction and has given tirelessly to our wonderful community.
We thank you Mat, and wish you all the best for the future.
