Guide to talking to your candidates for the NSW State Election

Rainbow Families has developed a guide for members of our community wanting to talk to candidates about the issues that affect our families.

Despite some excellent reforms for LGBTIQA+ people in NSW, Rainbow Families are disproportionately affected by discrimination and exclusion when accessing NSW government services.

We surveyed our community and this survey reflects the issues they highlighted.

The guide is designed to provide talking points and covers issues such as anti-discrimination laws, surrogacy, LGBTIQA+ specific anti-bullying programs, family inclusiveness and reforms to birth certificates.

The guide is accompanied by a survey we have sent to the major parties contesting this election. We will publish their responses before the election on March 23.
