Give Out Day

Improving the lives of LGBTIQ+ people doesn’t stop at marriage equality. But in Australia, there is a clear lack of funding support to take us further.

Rainbow Families is the peak body for LGBTIQ parents. We connect, support and empower LGBTIQ+ parents and their families, offering a network of support to children and families within the LGBTIQ+ community.

Our advocacy team are working tirelessly through the recommendations of our Love Makes A Family Report, and are about to release a report into the discrimination our families face when accessing Federal Government services. We have had a number of wins including making passport application forms and the Blue Book more inclusive of our families.

Our education team host a quarterly LGBTIQ+ inclusive antenatal class, organise regular parenting courses specifically for our community and are about to release a guide for trans and gender diverse parents.

Our regular events and support for playgroups and regional groups is helping to connect families in regional areas, and bring people together to create inclusive communities for our children to grow up in.

Inspired by the success of the US concept and motivated by the lack of funding for LGBTIQ+ community work, giveOUTday is coming to Australia and we are excited to be part of it.

Donations made to us through the giveOUTday AU platform will be matched dollar for dollar up to $1,000.
