Youth Group Term Two Wrap Up 2025

What a colourful and creative Term Two we’ve had at Rainbow Families Youth Group! From science and art to deep conversations and community pride, our Big and Little Rainbows brought their brilliance and laughter every single week.

Big Rainbows got expressive with canvas painting, made their own delicious homemade pizzas, and took part in an important focus group on safe relationships, run by the Australian Human Rights Commission.

Little Rainbows got busy building balloon powered cars and letting their imaginations run wild creating their very own comic books filled with original characters and stories.

Our combined sessions were full of fun and learning. We built marshmallow catapults, took part in a focus group about young people’s experiences with social media, and visited Qtopia as part of their Pride Fest celebrations. At Qtopia, we learned about the history of Mardi Gras and toured the powerful museum space, a moving and inspiring experience for all.

We also showed up and showed off at Family Pride, where we hosted a super fun stall full of bracelet making and nail painting. It was such a joy to connect with the broader Rainbow Families community and share in the celebration.

Looking ahead to Term 3.

Get ready for a brand new term full of creativity and fun. We’ll be making candles, running cool science experiments, battling it out in dodgeball, and decorating pancakes.

Thanks to all the amazing young people (and their families) who make this group so special. We can’t wait to see you again next term!
