Why Family Diversity Matters in Early Learning Environments
Early childhood education lays the foundation for inclusive attitudes and helps children understand the world around them. As families come in many shapes and forms, it’s important that early learning environments reflect and celebrate this diversity.
Recognising and including all family types not only supports children from different backgrounds but also encourages respect, empathy, and a sense of belonging among all children.
By making family diversity a visible and natural part of everyday learning, educators help children develop a broader understanding of love, care, and connection.

Marly seeded this resource as a way to offer simple, practical changes that fit seamlessly into existing early learning environments.
