Rainbow Families Board Strategy Day in Sydney

Last week, our board of nine directors gathered in Sydney, with members flying in from Queensland and Victoria, to develop our strategic plan for the next three years.

We discussed how Rainbow Families can best support LGBTQ+ families throughout Australia, brainstorming ideas on how to fund our initiatives to ensure we have the resources needed to make a real difference. We also set our advocacy priorities for the next three years, focusing on the importance of being a strong voice for our community, advocating for policies and practices that promote equality and support for LGBTQ+ families.

We redefined our mission and vision to ensure they are inclusive and accurately reflect the work we do. This involved discussions about our core values and how we can better serve every member of our community. We also identified new organisations to collaborate and connect with as we expand our reach across the country.

EO Ashley Scott said, "It’s exciting to see the direction we're moving in. The combined skill set of our board brings an amazing level of commitment, knowledge and drive to the table. We are very lucky to have the board we have steering Rainbow Families. We're feeling optimistic about the future and our ability to support more of our growing community."
