What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday! Our Making Rainbow Families seminar brought together a room full of LGBTQ+ intended parents in a warm, welcoming space and the energy was just beautiful.
The day was filled with informative sessions designed specifically for our community, covering the most common questions, personal journeys and experiences that matter to LGBTQ+ families. The room was full of people approaching parenthood with thoughtfulness and heart, and the connections made throughout the day were pretty special.
A huge thank you to our wonderful supporters
This event wouldn't have happened without the generous support of some incredible organisations and individuals - and we are so lucky to have all that expertise in one place.
A very special thanks to Genea, whose support means so much to us!

We also want to warmly acknowledge:
- Jacqueline McDiarmid
- Barnardos Australia
- Growing Families
- Surrogacy Australia
- Sarah Bevan Family Lawyers
- Te Koha Midwifery Services
- Komuni Kare
Thank you all for showing up for our community in such a meaningful way.

A moment that stood out
A highlight was hearing from three young people who grew up in rainbow families. They spoke openly about their experiences with humour, smarts and emotional maturity, and the room loved them.
There were also valuable, open conversations about neurodiversity and its higher prevalence in queer families, handled with truth, compassion and zero stigma. Exactly the kind of conversations our community needs!
Come along next time
If you missed this one, keep an eye out for our next Making Rainbow Families event. It's a day you won't want to miss if you have ever considered growing or starting a family of your own.
