Drag Story Time

How can you make story time even more enjoyable for kids?  Sydney's favourite Drag Queen Hannah, will be facilitating all sorts of fun at Rainbow Families’ upcoming Drag Story Time.  It’s a joyful way to introduce children to concepts of creativity, and freedom of self-expression.

Organiser Jolene Evans says: “Drag Story Time is important because it teaches diversity and acceptance from a young age. Children growing up in an inclusive environment ensures inclusive and open-minded adults.”

And Hannah Conda is thrilled to be involved: “Having a bold, colourful drag princess for kids to talk to opens their minds up to all the possibilities of the world; allows them to ask questions and be curious. If they feel that they don’t fit into a box, there is opportunity for them to find who they are outside it.”

The event is being run in the school holidays so some of the bigger kids within our community can participate in what has become a regular event the Rainbow Families calendar.

Anyone with an overflowing dress up box are encouraged to bring along their favourite outfits to share on the day.
