Brush up on parenting/carer skills, get support and meet other LGBTQ+ families with guidance from renowned Karitane facilitators.
Rainbow Families is partnering with Karitane to offer a Circle Of Security parenting course for LGBTQ+ parents and carers who want to brush up on their parenting skills.
Circle Of Security aims to help parents to:
· Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
· Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
· Enhance the development of their child's self esteem
· Honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure
This course is also a chance to meet other LGBTQ+ parents, enjoy learning new skills and gain information about further support.
The sessions offer a safe, supportive environment where you can share your thoughts and ideas, and learn from others with similar experiences. You will experience a positive, practical approach that builds on strengths within yourself and in your relationships. The learning environment will be a safe space for LGBTQ+ parents and carers to share their experience and learn new skills. The sessions are suitable for parents with children aged up to 12 years old.
The seven week course builds on skills from week to week, so attendance each week is preferred.
There are only 10 spaces available, so if you are interested please make sure you can attend all sessions. Sessions are from 7 – 8:30pm online.
