Rainbow Families is looking for a volunteer Social Media Coordinator to join our Marketing Subcommittee.

Rainbow Families is a 100% volunteer run organisation. Our goal is to support, connect and empower LGBTIQ parents, and their families. One of the simplest, and most important ways of connecting with our audience is through social media. 

We are looking for a blend of social media leader, social media strategist and an interactive content manager. This role will suit a highly motivated social media enthusiast who has a social media background, experience with digital campaigns and someone who is capable of optimising (search) specific online content for social and online media space.

You will be responsible for

  •  Building and executing social media strategy through research, platform determination, messaging and audience identification

  •  Generating, editing, publishing and sharing content regularly each week

  •  Optimise Rainbow Families’ presence within each platform to increase the visibility of our social content

  •  Continuously improve by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

  •  Collaborate with other subcommittees (events, education, advocacy, membership) to ensure all relevant activities are being communicated to our community

This position will require approximately 2-3 hours volunteer work per week. It would be perfect for a stay at home parent or prospective parent, with an interest in marketing, social media, and being involved in Rainbow Families.
