Researchers at Westmead Children’s Hospital (WCH) are seeking children to participate in a study on gender identity.
The study aims to increase the hospital’s understanding of children who identify as trans and attract much-needed funds to continue research and expand services in this area.
Currently WCH researchers have enough young trans people to participate in the study but need children aged 9-14 with no signs of ‘gender dysphoria’ to take part. However children with trans relatives, mental health issues (such as depression or anxiety) will be unable to be included.
Children selected to participate will be required for 1.5hours and will need to undergo an MRI.
Participants are paid $50, Contact Associate Professor Kasia for more info.
