Midwives Supporting LGBTQ+ Parents and Families

We have worked with the Australian College Of Midwives and developed an LGBTQ+ inclusion training package for midwives.

This education package will assist midwives to increase their understanding of the challenges LGBTQ+ families face and how to provide inclusive midwifery care.

Learning outcomes - Midwives will:

1. Gain greater understanding of how discrimination and bias impact LGBTQ+ identifying families in the context of midwifery care.

2. Gain knowledge and resources to be able to provide LGBTQ+ families with appropriate and individualised midwifery care.

A huge thank you to Rachel Reid and Bridget Muir who volunteered to develop this training.
