Rainbow Families is a 100% volunteer organisation, providing a network of support to children and families within the NSW LGBTIQ community. One of the ways we support the LGBTIQ community is by working with Social and Play Groups that support Rainbow Families.

Rainbow Families of the Illawarra

The Rainbow Families of the Ilawarra social group is open to all LGBTIQ parents and their kids. The weekend Wcatch ups take place in different places throughout the Illawarra area monthly. The catch ups are a great place to meet other LGBTIQ parents/carers and their children.

Weekly Playgroup will run each week throughout the school term in a purpose-built space at the University of Wollongong. The Early Start team at the uni are supporting us to create our own playgroup where rainbow families can meet up regularly and play, get to know each other better, and support each other and our kids. As a bonus, playgroup participants will also have free access to the adjacent Early Start Discovery Space, an amazing innovative playspace, after playgroup each week.

Check out the  Early Start and The Discovery Space for more information about the space.

When: Thursdays 9:30 - 11:30 am (during school term)

Where: Early Start, Building 21, University of Wollongong Main Campus, Northfields Avenue, Keiraville NSW 2522.
